I’m not asking if you believe in UFO/aliens or anything for that matter, but if you do please elaborate. If not, just tell me if it’s a hoax or not. From what I heard skeptics have attacked the video tape for ages however, not one has been able to manipulate the footage as if and if any tampering has been done.
Note: this was back in the 1970s! No special effect specialist (no photoshop or final cut.)

You don’t need expensive special effects or any sort of post-editing to fake a UFO filming. All you need is a model or a toy.
Since the photographic image is 2, rather than 3, dimensional, the viewer can be easily fooled about the relative sizes and positions of the objects filmed. Movie makers have been using this trick since the 1920’s. One famous example is the closing of the movie Casablanca. The ending was filmed on a soundstage rather than at an airstrip. To create the illusion of space, the produced used a reduced-size model of an airplane, and hired a midget to stand beside at as the plane’s steward.
